For over 8 years, I have been perfecting my craft as a Natural Hair Care Specialist. During my journey, I not only learned about the different ways of styling our unique tresses. I also learned about the best ways to care for our Crown; to maintain health, strength and to continue adequate growth. Along my journey, I discovered how many different textures, patterns, as well as the common issues Black Women were dealing with during their natural hair journey. Some of the issues, were due to lack of knowledge on how to care for their hair, while other challenges dealt with damage that was caused by years of chemical use, such as relaxers, permanent colors, and bleaches. With much experience, I learned many ways to repair the damage and help my clients start a new journey to health and wellness for their hair. My love for Black hair began to flourish, and my interest peaked as to what more I could do to help Black women take care of their Crowns.

As an individual, who has always shared a love for holistic health, herbal medicine, and spiritual development. I began to see the connection of these elements and how they influenced the Crown of Black Women. While the Crown is something that adorns without, the journey for health and wellness of our hair begins within. I noticed the importance of diet; vitamins and minerals that our tresses needed to be at their fullest potential. The more I conversed with my clients about their diets and habits, I was able to see that most of them were not taking in the proper nutrients. As we all may know, proper nutrients are needed to maintain overall health and wellness of the body and mind. What we fail to realize is how this impacts the Crown (hair) and the Armor (skin) as well as the spirit. Lack of Vitamin D leads to spot balding, abnormal shedding and a stunt in hair growth, lack of protein or too much protein causes brittle and straw like hair. Lack of proper nutrients can also cause anxiety, stress, depression, inadequate womb health and other mental/energetic imbalances.  There are so many more issues that can be developed by the lack of proper nutrients, too much to list here. However, with this knowledge, I knew that I couldn’t make my clients changed their diets, but what I could do was make sure that the products that I used possessed the nutrients that their hair needed. I started to blend oils, butters, herbs, and many other ingredients for my clients before their arrival based upon what I knew their hair needed. Overtime, I began to see major differences in their hair, including thickness and growth. Witnessing these changes firsthand, I knew that this was something I was meant to do.

In conjunction with my Natural Hair Care experience, I began to study formally and informally to become a Certified Herbalist. During this portion of my journey, I learned more about what could be done for the hair and skin using mother nature as my source. In addition to hair and skin needs, I was able to learn how medicinal herbs, oils, butters, and other ingredients help maintain mental and spiritual wellness. This abundance of knowledge allowed me to develop many remedies in my home for myself and my family. Through trial and error, along came the products that YOU will soon experience!  So here I am, after years of development, procrastination, doubt, fear, faith and finally certainty, I present Imahge & Co.
